Ex-KITTIE Guitarist Speaks Out On Departure From Band, Solo Project
June 3, 2002Despite rampant rumors which have been circulating since her departure from the group, guitarist Fallon Bowman's decision to leave KITTIE was not caused by her dislike for the touring lifestyle—quite the contrary, in fact. "I love touring. I miss it a lot," Bowman told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "I was unhappy with some things in the band so I felt that maybe it was time for me to depart. I think it was for the best."
Currently involved with her own project, AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT, Bowman has no plans to expand the one-woman act into a full-fledged band, stating simply that, "if anything, I will add another person and that's it. I am not setting out to make a huge band, I just want to play music that makes me feel good, and makes others feel good and music that people can dance to."
Describing AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT's sound as "a mixture of everything that I have listened to in my life," Fallon's current musical undertaking is "something that I have always wanted to do, a dancey—industrial even—project that talks about things that goes on in our world, and things that people should know about and be aware of and take action, if applicable."
Insisting that she has no intentions of shopping her new material around for a record deal, Bowman has revealed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that discussions have taken place about the possibility of a collaboration with ex-KITTIE bassist Talena Atfield on upcoming recordings, a prospect which is looking increasingly likely, according to the guitarist.
At the present time, Fallon is continuing to demo new songs and is planning on making them available for download via AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT's official web site, which was recently launched at this location. To download the track "Searchlight", click here.
